History

Appalachian Wood Products was founded in 1987 in Clearfield, PA. Dennis McCahan started this business with 13 employees in a 12,000 sq ft facility conveniently located just off exit 120 of Interstate 80.

Our first product line was dedicated to cabinet and door framing components for the kitchen cabinet industry. Growth came quickly as a night shift and building expansion were added in the first year of operations. Late in 1988, ground was broken for another expansion doubling the size of the facility to add glued panels and assembled cabinet doors to the product line. Since then AWP has grown to its present size of 266,000 sq ft.

AWP’s facility is recognized as one of the premier production facilities with leading technology in the woodworking industry. Our reputation for exceptional quality and service has helped us become the preferred supplier of many of our customers.
